The infamous “why don’t you just…“ advice always sounds a bit too simplistic. Besides this famous snippet, it most likely misses a detail… or fifty.
Just like building stairs, which why-don’t-you-justers should try. Not the imaginary, analog-for-something stairs, but real ones, in the real world.
Everyone knows stairs. They are easy to test and there’s an easy-ish version most people can actually build. Or at least it looks like you could.
But when you try, you realize it involves much more details and decisions than it seems. Just like almost everyone your team is working on.
